The progression of artificial intelligence toward applicability in biomaterial and tissue engineering

چکیده :
Artificial intelligence (AI) has attracted a great deal of attention in the global village thanks to the ubiquitous applications of artificial intelligence in different sciences. What is appealing is its application for new emerging sciences like tissue engineering and biomaterials. Regarding tissue engineering, the chief application areas of machine learning in tissue engineering include optimization of bioprinting and other scaffold design techniques, predicting material–cell interactions, optimizing drug delivery systems, supporting image analysis, and modeling the in vivo scaffold performance. Artificial intelligence and machine learning, which are transforming the field of biomaterials research and development are being increasingly applied to enhance biomaterial design, optimization, and predictive modeling [9]. What makes the application of these technologies interesting is their application for various types of biomaterials, including polymers, metals, composites, and inorganic materials [9]. It should be noted that artificial intelligence and machine learning are new fields of study that have been applied in the area of tissue engineering and biomaterials, paving the way for optimization in different areas of these sciences and will be continued.
